idiotsguides.com 2010-2014

Square

In 2010, we updated idiotsguides.com from utilitarian product catalog to a content-rich destination full of quick guides curated by the editors. The site was handwritten HTML and CSS static pages, as the content management system at the time was intended to display product pages, not articles. These changes to the site increased the reader traffic significantly, and gave new breath to the brand. The success of quick guides inspired a re-imagining of the site in 2014 to encourage users to write their own how-to content.

What did it look like before?

The original version of idiotsguides.com, around 2009 or so. Mainly an online book catalog, with a few articles.
